Discover Freelance.tv: Stories about Freelancing

Discover Freelance.tv: Stories about Freelancing AoiroStudio May 16, 2017 Somehow freelancing in our field is something we can all relate to, whenever we’ve done it (and still do) or you’ve never done it at all. One thing for sure, it isn’t as glamorous as it seems (I’ve personally did for 8 years) and I can admit that it has its ups and downs. There is a lot more work involved if you compare to a 9-5 schedule because with freelancing, you don’t have a schedule. You can work as much as 20 hours a week to 90 hours a week; depending on how you organize your workflow and most importantly how hard you hustle at getting the clients, promoting yourself and etc. Our buddy Dann Petty is on a quest to meet and share real world stories to inspire you to pursue your passion and make it a reality. His creation became freelance.tv. Behind freelance.tv, we have Dann Petty who is a full-time freelance designer based in San Francisco, CA. Also Dann is known to be the host of the design event (the non-conference for designers, developers and creatives alike) named: Epicurrence. Graphic Design – Classic Formula 1 Inspired Stamps

Graphic Design – Classic Formula 1 Inspired Stamps abduzeedo Jun 21, 2017 As a fan of Formula 1 I had to post about these beautiful stamps created by Paprika and shared on his Behance page withe the graphic design project titled of Canada Post / Formula 1. Paprika used some of the most iconic F1 race drives in history and designed some timeless stamps. Figures like Michael Schumacher, Gilles Villeneuve, Lewis Hamilton and of course the greatest of them all in my opinion, the one and only Ayrton Senna. In addition to the stamps there’s some sort of posters and collaterals. Everything has that nostalgic feeling of races of the past. It feels modern but at the same time vintage.  I selected some images below for you to check out. Paprika is a graphic design and strategic marketing firm specializing in business communications services: corporate identity programs, branding, annual reports, brochures, catalogs, posters, packaging, environmental design, signs and websites. Paprika  has won more than 700 national and international awards for design excellence since opening its doors for business in 1991, including Aiga, Applied Arts annual awards, Art Directors Club and Type Directors Club of New York, British Design and Art Direction, Communication Arts, Coupe Magazine,… Read More»

Graphic Design: Marquee Light Bulbs Toolkit

Graphic Design: Marquee Light Bulbs Toolkit abduzeedo Jun 22, 2017 I love the internet and how it made things accessible in ways that are hard to explain for those that didn’t live before internet. This post is an example. As a fan of graphic design I was always exploring ways to create things in Photoshop. You can go to our Tutorials section and you will see that there are many examples of things like neon light, smoke and marquee light bulbs. Nowadays you can find everything pretty much done for you, like the  Marquee Light Bulbs – Front View 3D assets that Peter Olexa and Pete Deeezy shared on their Behance profile. It has everything you need to create your composition with those elements. I know it might not be the same thing than creating something from scratch, but in my opinion graphic design is about communication more than recreating the wheel. Description Brand new and exclusive Marquee Light Bulbs – Front View 3D style typography toolkit with 4 lettering sets, 6 grunge display fonts and lot of shapes & elements. This bundle is exclusive and first time on sale only on Dealjumbo! All these letterings & shapes are great for any print or web projects, so maybe it’s time to add… Read More»

Brand Identity for Master Padilla Auditorium

Brand Identity for Master Padilla Auditorium abduzeedo Jun 26, 2017 There are so many ways to find inspiration, especially when it comes to brand identity. Fau Giménez shows us that really well by the super clever use of a reference on the architecture of the building to use it as element on the brand identity system. The usage goes beyond just logo, if you look at the graphic design created for collaterals and banners you will see how flexible and efficient the solution is. Product description Creation of the graphic identity of the Maestro Padilla auditorium, with the aim of creating an even greater cultural demand of the existing one and at the same time that the city of Almería bets on the design, as do the big cities like Malaga, Seville and even Granada And to be able to compete as a city of design. The project will range from the design of the auditorium brand, through the creation of campaigns related to the events that will take place, create a distinctive language where the audience can be differentiated from any event that takes place in the city, Development of social networks, and thus indirectly (or directly) improve that visual culture of… Read More»

What’s particular about this series is the tone and also the extra mile that Daniel took really make it stand out even more from what we’ve seen around. It will definitely be interesting to see his process from start to finish but what I can see here is a mixture of photography and photoshop. It’s really architectural project to a whole new level. Published via Behance is the work from Daniel Garay Arango who is a photographer based in Bogotá, Colombia. There isn’t much more information about Daniel but you should definitely give him a follow on Behance and Instagram. photography architecture digital photography

Industrial Design Digital Detox Phone

Industrial Design Digital Detox Phone abduzeedo May 24, 2017 Halcyon is a concept industrial design project created by Mike George. It’s a phone to escape the digital world. The idea is simple, we all know that smartphones have completely changed the way we live. The average person spends 3.6 hours a day on their smartphones on social media. The smartphones got as connected, and yet people have never felt more lonely. Mike’s idea is to go back to simplicity and reduce the venues where people can fabricate personas and end up missing out on what’s important. Halcyon is a flip-phone. A gorgeous one and it embraces the trend of ‘digital detoxing.’ Halcyon is an adjective denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful… Simple and intuitive, the handset is as stripped-back and minimal as possible – says Mike. He also adds that the “device takes you back to a simple time, before status and Whatsoever groups’. It’s an incentive for people to go back to be social in the true sense of the word. There’s a lot to love from this industrial design concept. From the simplicity of the form to the elegant look. I know… Read More»

Surreal Illustration Style: The observatory

Surreal Illustration Style: The observatory abduzeedo Jun 28, 2017 The Observatory is an illustration and graphic design project created and shared by Anxo Vizcaíno. It is one of those projects that make your imagination fly away. It reminds me those old school 80s artworks, like you still can see some street artist doing on plates and stuff like that. It has the space theme but with a surreal style of presenting the human figure. It also reminds me of the Monument Valley game due to the isometric perspective. Anyways, I selected some images below for you to check it out. Anxo Vizcaíno is a freelancer artist and designer from Lugo, Spain. For more information check out http://www.anxovizcaino.com/ The first piece of this series was originally part of my collection of “experimental remixes”. Now it inspired me to create a whole collection of scenes set in the same atmosphere. I’m producing some limited fine-art prints soon. – Anxo Vizcaíno Illustration After many years working as a graphic designer and illustrator, I have now embarked on a more personal artistic path, treating the most sincere subjects into my mind and experimenting with the techniques and elements I ever wanted. I’m currently working on a few personal series… Read More»

Super Realistic 3D Rendering of a Homeless

Super Realistic 3D Rendering of a Homeless abduzeedo May 17, 2017 We have been posting a lot about UI/UX, architecture, photography and branding. I know some of you think we forgot about Photoshop or 3D but we have not forgotten. To prove that to you I want to share this incredible project created by Yan Blanco titled Homeless. I have no words to describe how amazing the 3D rendering is, so here is from Yan’s words: the project is tribute to all those who are forgotten and ignored. To those who have incredible stories never told. To those who make the streets their home, during the day, at night, in the heat, in the cold. They are always there. The level of realism, especially the expression and the eyes are just astounding. The best thing is that Yan shared a bunch of screenshots of the process behind. He used Maya, Pixologic, Zbrush, Blender 3D and Cycles Render. Below you can see from the references till the modeling, texturing, lighting and final 3D rendering. 3D Rendering Process Yan Blanc is an illustrator and 3D artist from Brazil.
