Architectural Illustration – Famous Buildings abduzeedo Jan 09, 2017 Architectural illustration Progress Profiles is a illustration project shared by Andrea Minini. He was commissioned to create thirteen architectural illustrations reproducing some super renowned buildings around the world. The most beautiful thing about them is the simplicity and the use of lines to highlight some of the iconic features of these buildings. It’s a great use of the Blend Tool in Illustrator, at least that would be the way I would do it. Actually we have posted some tutorials here on ABDZ about that, like the Offset Path Effect/ The architectural illustration include buildings like the: Heydar Aliyev Centre – Arch: Zaha Hadid Millau Viaduct – Arch: Norman Foster Sydney Opera House – Arch: Jørn Utzon The Dominion Building – Arch: Zaha Hadid Beijing National Stadium (bird’s nest) – Arch: Herzong & de Meuron Louvre Pyramid – Arch: Leoh Ming Pei Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao) – Arch: Frank Gehry Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Center – Arch: Renzo Piano Kaufmann Residence (Fallingwater House) – Arch: Frank Lloyd Wright Guggenheim Museum (NYC) – Arch: Frank Lloyd Wright Architectural illustration About Andrea Minini Andrea is a freelancer graphic designer and illustrator from Milano, Italy. Industrial Design: Connected Air Purifier abduzeedo Jan 06, 2017 Connected is a product design and industrial design project shared by N U Y N on Behance. The product is an air purifier. The problem they are trying to solve is simple, most people close their windows and use air purification devices when fine dust density are serious. However, experts suggests to open the window for a while to ventilate the air indoor. Despite the suggestion, people still tend to shut their windows to prevent the air from coming. Another interest finding is that people also fail to check the lowest fine dust concentration during the day. That would be me 🙂 N U Y N industrial design solution is quite beautiful and in addition to clear and purify the air it also displays a minimal and elegant look. The coolest thing for me is the way you can make it part of the window. Quite clever. “This device is an installation type air purification. Normally used as a general air purifier, but when needed, this device is installed in a window frame to filter outside air and let out the inside for cleaner air circulation.” This industrial design project was shared by N U… Read More»

Daily Design Inspiration AoiroStudio Aug 04, 2016 Part of the Daily Inspiration series that started it all on Abduzeedo. This is where you’ll find the most interesting things/finds/work curated by one of us to simply inspire your day. Furthermore, it’s an opportunity to feature work from more designers, photographers, and artists in general that we haven’t had the chance to write or feature about in the past. For this Daily we are selecting some works in photography playing with silhouettes, branding and digital art as well. Our goal is to diversify the types of work and in the future we can perhaps categorize them in different sections. For now we are going to stick to the simple format of images and links. I hope you enjoy and share with use via Twitter or our Tumblr. Until further notice, we’ll display the images and the titles added to them. Because of little issues we had in the past, the images are still linked to their authors, we just won’t mentioned who shared them like we used to. Design Inspiration daily inspiration
Collection of Minimalist Poster Design abduzeedo Aug 04, 2016 One of the reasons I got to design was because of posters, especially movie posters. It was part of my childhood going to the movies and while waiting checking the posters of the upcoming movies. I see a lot of that style for poster design coming back now because the 80s are again very trendy, the new Netflix show Stranger Things is a great example. For this post however, I don’t want to talk about that style of poster but my favorite one nowadays, minimalist poster design and Xavier Esclusa Trias has quite a few good ones on his Behance portfolio. Xavier is an art director from Barcelona, Spain and his portfolio is filled with excellent posters, of all sorts of styles. They are quite good, but my favorites were the ones that he played with simple lines and colors to produce quite beautiful examples. They are heavily Swiss style or International Style inspired, that’s the reason I love them and the reason I am sharing some of them here with you on this post. The International Typographic Style, also known as the Swiss Style, is a graphic design style that… Read More»
Stranger Things Logo – Photoshop Tutorials PauloGabriel Aug 04, 2016 80’s revival is stronger than ever. With Netflix’s Stranger Things we’re seeing people going crazy about 80’s culture which is shown in the show thru its style and easter eggs. One of the things that set ambience for the show is its logo. I thought it would be cool trying to mimic its style in Photoshop, so let’s try it out. Step 1 Open Photoshop and create a new document. I am using 1920×900 pixels. After that fill the layer with a gradient #000000 and #303030 for colors and tilt it for better effect. Step 2 Go to filter > blur > gaussian blur and fill with 100 for radius. Step 3 Add a new layer above it and fill it with #d91f26. Set is blend mode to Multiply. Step 4 Time to add some text. I’m using the original logo font, called Benguiat. The weight is bold. You can buy it at MyFonts, or feel free to use a bold, serif font of your choice. Adjust the text so that it has 2 lines, the top one being wider than the bottom one. Turn all text black (#000000). Step… Read More»

If you have not already updated your WordPress websites to WordPress 4.7.2, you need to do so immediately. While three security vulnerabilities were disclosed in the original WordPress 4.7.2 security release post last week, a disclosure of additional security fix in WordPress 4.7.2 was announced yesterday. In this security disclosure, an Unauthenticated Privilege Escalation Vulnerability in a REST API Endpoint vulnerability was disclosed to exist in WordPress 4.7 and 4.7.1. This vulnerability allows attackers to bypass standard WordPress security measures in order to change content. Because of the significance of this vulnerability, we strongly recommend you update your WordPress websites to WordPress 4.7.2 as quickly as possible. Updating to WordPress 4.7.2 While WordPress 4.7.2 was released as an autoupdate, confirm your sites have been updated successfully. You’ll find the WordPress 4.7.2 update available from your WordPress dashboard. Visit the Updates page by clicking the icon in the top navigation bar. As always, it’s a good idea to run a WordPress backup before updating.
